KUCHING: A local man miraculously escaped with injuries after his car skidded and crashed into a road barrier along Jalan Stephen Yong early this morning (June 7).

The accident happened at around 3.05 am and it left the 37-year-old victim trapped in the Honda Civic following the impact.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Batu Lintang station were dispatched to the scene, about 10km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team carried out a rescue operation using hydraulic extrication equipment to extricate the victim from the vehicle.
Once freed, he was transported to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.
It was reported that he had sustained injuries to his arms and legs.
After ensuring the situation was safe for other road users, the team ended the operation at 4am.
