SARIKEI: A lorry driver sustained minor injuries after his 10-tonne concrete mixer skidded and overturned by the roadside along Jalan Meruton-Baji today (June 26).
The 36-year-old victim managed to exit the vehicle safely before emergency responders arrived at the scene.
He was reported to be in stable condition and was taken to the hospital for further care.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), firefighters from Sarikei station were dispatched to the scene — about 12km away — after receiving an emergency call at 8.16am.
Upon arrival, the team confirmed that the scene was safe and posed no further risk to other road users.
The operation concluded at 8.50am.
