SIBU: A 29-year-old motorcyclist was found dead after he was believed to have been involved in an accident earlier in Jalan Tulai yesterday (June 12).

Maradong OCPD DSP Sekam Anoi, in a press statement today (June 13), said the accident happened around 10.40pm when a 35-year-old woman—driving from Bintangor to Sibu—felt something hit her car.

“She was in Jalan Tulai when she felt something hit her car.

“She then stopped the vehicle about 450m from the incident location and noticed smoke coming out from her car’s bonnet.”

DSP Sekam added that the woman then called a towing company to send her car to Sibu, all the while not realising that there had been an accident involving her vehicle.

“The body of the motorcyclist was found on the side of the road and his body was sent to Sarikei Hospital.

“The case is still under investigation and is classified under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.”
