SERIAN: A local man escaped with minor injuries after his car crashed and burst into flames near Simpang Baki, Sungai Mamat this morning.
The accident happened at around 9.20 am when a Perodua Myvi he was driving veered out of control and crashed by the roadside.
The driver, whose identity was not known, managed to get out of the vehicle moments before it was engulfed in flames. He was later taken to Serian Hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters from Serian were dispatched to the scene, about 11km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team extinguished the car fire using water sourced from their fire engine.
The firefighters ended the operation at 9.56 am.
