SARIKEI: A 49-year-old man sustained light injuries after the Toyota Hilux he was driving rear-ended a 10-tonne cargo lorry while going uphill at Bukit Sebakoi on Tuesday night (Nov 4).
The victim managed to free himself with help from members of the public before the arrival of firefighters at the scene.
He was later taken by the medical personnel to Sarikei Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the lorry driver escaped the crash unharmed.
Sarikei Fire and Rescue Station said they received a distress call regarding the incident at 9.24 pm.
A team of nine personnel was deployed to the scene with one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and one Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.
