SARATOK: A driver was injured after his pickup truck skidded and crashed along Jalan Saratok-Roban here yesterday (May 8).
The accident happened around 5.10 pm when the man was driving to Saratok from Sarikei.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said firemen from the Saratok station were promptly despatched to the scene near Rh Tingting, Sungai Klampai Church.
On arrival, they found the pickup truck flipped on its side in the middle of the road.
The team provided first aid to the injured victim, who managed to get out of his vehicle before the firemen arrived.
He was later taken to Saratok Hospital for further treatment. The extent of his injuries is not known.
The team also conducted flushing works to clear the road ofdebris and oil spill.
