SELANGAU: Two local men were fortunate to escape with only injuries after their van skidded off the road near Simpang Selangau yesterday (Dec 15).
The 4.35 pm accident drew quick attention from passers-by, who rushed in to help and managed to get the victims out of the overturned vehicle before emergency responders arrived.
Fortunately, neither was trapped in the Toyota Hiace van.
Firefighters from Selangau station later stabilised the victims and moved them to a safe area while awaiting medical assistance.
The victims, who suffered minor injuries, were handed over to paramedics for further treatment.
