Driver, passengers injured after van crashes into tree

KUCHING: Three locals, including two women, were injured after their van crashed into a tree along Jalan Sultan Tengah last night (Mar 25).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Petra Jaya station were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call at 9.59 pm.

Upon arrival, they found the van had veered off the road and confirmed that the driver and two passengers were still inside.

Firefighters assisted the injured individuals out of the vehicle before handing them over to paramedics for initial treatment. Their identities and the extent of their injuries remain unknown.

All three were later taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further medical attention.

Once the situation was deemed safe, the team ended the operation at 11 pm.
