BINTULU: A man was killed after the 30-tonne lorry that he was driving got completely destroyed in a fire along Jalan Kidurong here this morning.
The victim, identified as Mugai Juming, 59, was pronounced dead at the scene after being trapped in the driver’s seat, which was engulfed in flames.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department in a statement said that they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 9:55 am.
“The lorry is believed to have been involved in a self-accident before the cab section caught fire entirely,” said the statement today.
The victim’s remains were handed over to the police for further action.
The operation was fully concluded at 11:45 am.
