SELANGAU: A local man sustained severe injuries after the trailer he was driving skidded and crashed along Batu 40, Jalan Sungai Kua here today (Aug 20).
The accident happened at around 9.45 am when the trailer swerved out of control and rammed into a road divider.
Fortunately, the 34-year-old victim was rescued by members of the public before the arrival of first responders.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Selangau station were dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 9.49 am.
Upon arrival, they confirmed the accident and provided initial treatment to stabilise the victim at the scene. He was later handed over to paramedics, who later transported him to the hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters only carried out flushing works to ensure the road was safe before wrapping up the operation.
