Driver sought after colliding with motorcycle

BINTANGOR: Police are looking for the driver of a silver Perodua Kenari vehicle after it allegedly collided with a motorcycle before fleeing the scene on Tuesday.

The crash occurred at around 6.05 am in front of the Customs Flat along Jalan Kelupu, involving a Honda motorcycle and the Kenari, whose licence plate has yet to be established.

Preliminary investigations found that the motorcyclist was travelling in the left lane from Sibu towards Bintangor when the Kenari allegedly swerved from the middle lane into the left lane, resulting in a collision.

Meradong police said the motorcyclist suffered injuries to his hand.

The driver of the Kenari is now being sought by the district Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division to assist with investigations.

Police urged the driver to come forward at the Meradong traffic police station.

They are also appealing to motorists and members of the public who witnessed the crash or captured the incident on dashcam to provide the footage or any information that could help identify the vehicle and driver.
