KUCHING: The Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) is urging its members to stay united and build stronger networks as it positions itself as a more inclusive and competitive platform for Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Sarawak.
Its president, Datuk Abang Helmi Ikhwan, said the DUBS Kuching Branch Appreciation Dinner was not only to honour individuals who had served the organisation, but also to reinforce solidarity among members.
“This evening’s theme, ‘Menghargai Perkhidmatan, Meraikan Masa Depan’, carries a deep message about valuing past efforts while moving forward with renewed focus and energy.
“The success of DUBS comes from the close cooperation and strong support of all our members,” he said during his speech at the event, held at Waterfront Hotel Kuching on July 21.
He reminded attendees that DUBS’ achievements were the result of collective effort and shared commitment across its membership.
“Each individual, regardless of title or background, has an important role in shaping the future of this organisation.
“When we unite, we not only strengthen our position but also create broader opportunities for all Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
” He stressed the importance of continued collaboration and mutual respect going forward. “It is important that we continue to nurture a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect. With strong collaboration, we can face future challenges and achieve even greater success.
“Let us continue to work together to strengthen the Bumiputera economy and ensure DUBS remains competitive and relevant. With unity and cooperation, I believe our future will be brighter,” he said.
During the same event, he also paid tribute to former president Drahman Jaladin and the exco members of the previous term, whose contributions were described as invaluable.
“Their contributions will always be remembered and serve as inspiration for future generations. We pray they continue to be blessed in their next chapters,” he said.
Following the start of the new term, the DUBS Kuching Branch Committee for 2025–2028 is chaired by Khairulnizam Mohd Khalid, with Muhammad Asri Boom as Deputy Chair and Hadzman Johny as Vice Chair.
The Secretary is Dyg Saadiah Pengiran Dtk Awg Hipni, assisted by Mohd Nizam Maulana as Assistant Secretary, while Awg Hasrullah Awg Ismail serves as Treasurer.
Elected Exco members are Syauqi Aqwa Saini, Abg Asri Ariffin, Awg Mohd Najib Awg Chee, and Dr Awg Moslem Awg Annuar. Mohd Shirajudin Bolhi leads the Dewan Muda, while Maila Hamid heads the Dewanita. Appointed Exco members are Bolhassan Putit, Sh. Noorlaila Wan Mohamad, and Winni Copper.
