SIBU: Dudong assemblyman, Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, has provided basic necessities to 42 families in Ulu Durin to help alleviate their daily economic burdens.
The aid, distributed last Thursday (April 2), was funded through Tiong’s special allocation following coordination efforts by Kapitan Li Siew Ching, who identified the specific needs of the local residents.
Each family received a kit of essential goods, including white rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, and biscuits. In addition to food items, solar-powered lamps were also provided for daily use.
Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong Chairman, Datuk Teo Boon Siew, officiated the handover ceremony on behalf of Tiong.
Also in attendance were Penghulu Teo Boon Chuen and several local community leaders.
Speaking at the event, Li expressed appreciation for Tiong’s consistent concern for the people’s welfare, noting that the contribution significantly eases the pressure on families facing economic challenges.
He also urged villagers to maintain close cooperation with local leadership and to continue channeling any future requests for assistance through their elected representatives.
