MIRI: Police arrested two local men in connection with the theft of a bonsai tree, following an operation on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspects were detained at about 2.50 pm on Jan 6 at a house in Desa Lambir along Jalan Miri–Bintulu.
The operation was led by Inspector Mohd Rayhan Albert, who headed a team from the Criminal Investigation Department.
The suspects were arrested to assist with investigations.
Both men are currently being held at the Miri Central Police Station lock-up and are being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
Meanwhile, police are appealing to the public to report suspicious activity to the police to support efforts to curb crime in Miri.
