Duo missing as boat capsizes in Sematan BY NEVILLE TIMOTHY SANDERS LUNDU: Two individuals are feared missing after their boat reportedly capsized in the waters off Kampung Pueh, Sematan here on Thursday evening (Nov 6). The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call at 7.40 pm, about 40 minutes after villagers reported seeing an orange boat overturned at sea. Initial checks revealed that the incident occurred around 7 pm. Villagers immediately conducted search efforts along Kem Belia Pueh beach and Mangrove Resort Pueh beach but found no sign of the victims. A team from the Lundu Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene, to gather further information. Upon arrival, they were informed that a resort worker had earlier thrown a large log into the sea, which may have been mistaken for the capsized boat. Police have yet to receive any missing persons report related to the incident. Bomba said search and rescue operations have been put on standby pending new information.
