BAU: Two local men aged between their 20s and 50s were arrested for suspected drug abuse during an anti-narcotics operation carried out by police here on Tuesday (Mar 24)
Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the arrests were made during Op Tapis conducted between 4pm and 9pm in Kampung Jugan, Siniawan and Kampung Bijuray, Krokong.
“The operation involved personnel from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (NCID) and members from the Bau police headquarters (IPD),” he said in a statement.
He added that initial urine screening tests conducted on both suspects returned positive for drugs.
“The suspects have been detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for further action,” he said.
Mohd Haide stressed that police will continue to take firm action against any form of drug abuse and urged the public to cooperate by channelling information to the authorities.
