PADAWAN: Two teenagers were arrested by police for participating in an illegal motorcycle race at Mile 18, Kuching-Serian Road on Friday night (June 12).

Padawan district police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan stated that the teenagers were arrested in ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ around 8pm. A team of 11 police personnel was involved in the operation.

“During the operation, police spotted the duo who were riding at a suspicious speed and competing against each other.

“They also performed a ‘Superman’ action — lying on the motorcycle seat with both legs lifted and straightened at the back,” he said in a statement.

Aidil said the 14-year-old students were brought to Padawan District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
