KUCHING: With Malaysia moving towards full implementation of the e-Invoice system, digital transformation is no longer optional but a critical necessity.

Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Datuk Lo Khere Chiang, called for collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and the community to ensure that no one is left behind in the transition to digital practices.

Lo was speaking at the ‘e-Invoice 2.0 Seminar’ held here on Sunday, organised by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Batu Kitang Youth Section.

“The seminar attracted participants from all walks of life, including senior citizens. Their presence is a strong indication of growing public awareness and interest in e-invoicing,” he said.

He acknowledged that for many small and medium enterprises (SMEs), hawkers, and micro-businesses, technology can seem daunting at first.

“But I believe after today’s seminar, that fear has been reduced. The concept of e-invoicing is now clearer, and participants can better understand its role in today’s digital economy,” Lo said.

He described the seminar as more than just an information session; it served as a bridge between government policy and real-world business practices.

“It helped translate what might seem like a complex policy into something accessible and applicable for grassroots entrepreneurs,” he said, commending the youth section for its initiative and strong sense of civic duty.

“Their efforts made a challenging topic easy to grasp and brought this important issue down to the community level, where it matters most.”

Lo assured that support would be extended to all business operators, regardless of size.

“Whether you run a large company or a small roadside stall, we are here to support you.

“The information shared today will help you comply with regulations, avoid penalties, and manage your business more effectively in the digital era,” he added.

He also encouraged participants to engage actively during the seminar’s Q&A session.

“Don’t be shy. Ask your questions. Often, one person’s question reflects the concerns of many others. Let’s learn and grow together,” he said.
