MUKAH: A house in Rh Empi along Jalan Sebakong here was destroyed in an early-morning fire today.

No casualties were reported.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident was reported at 3.46 am.

However, access to the location proved challenging as the road leading to the area was flooded and impassable.

Firefighters were forced to travel to the scene by a private boat arranged by the caller, with the location situated approximately 42 km from the fire station. The team arrived at the scene at around 6.30 am.

The fire involved a non-permanent structure house measuring approximately 30 by 40 square feet, which was already 100 per cent burnt by the time firefighters arrived.

As the fire had completely died out, no extinguishing operation was carried out.

The homeowner managed to escape safely, and no injuries or loss of life were reported.
