KUCHING: Students in Baleh received education incentives on Friday, an initiative aimed at supporting learning, easing family burdens, and encouraging youth to continue their studies.
The incentives were distributed under the Baleh Education Fund 2025, a long-term initiative supported by Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to provide financial assistance to students, promote educational development, and nurture future leaders in the community.
Datuk Ugak Wilson Kumbong, chairman of the fund and Hulu Rajang MP, said the assistance carries significance beyond monetary value.
“This assistance is not merely financial support, but a symbol of our support and confidence in the potential of Baleh’s children.
“Seeing the children of Baleh move forward through education has always been our shared hope and struggle,” he said on his Facebook page.
He further emphasised the role of education in shaping the next generation.
“As chairman of the Baleh Education Fund, I believe education is the strongest foundation in building the future of our young people,” he added.
“Our hope is clear – that the children of Baleh will continue to move forward, acquire knowledge as far as possible, and one day return to contribute to the development of the community and the future of Baleh.”
Ugak congratulated all recipients, urging them to strive for excellence in their studies and give back to their community.
