KUCHING: One half of the nation’s top mixed doubles pair, Toh Ee Wei, has been named one of Malaysia’s Top 30 Women Excellence Icons in Sports 2025, an honour that recognises her achievements and contributions both on and off the court.
Expressing her gratitude, Ee Wei said she was deeply humbled by the recognition, crediting her success to the people who have supported her throughout her journey.
“Grateful for the endless support from my team, coaches, family and everyone who has been part of this journey.
“A heartfelt thank you to Tun Dr Siti Hasmah for her kind words, inspiring advice, and encouragement,” she said in an Instagram post today,
The mixed doubles star, who continues to be a prominent figure in Malaysian badminton, said excellence to her means more than just winning titles.
“To me, excellence means giving your best with passion, discipline, and perseverance – both on and off the court,” she added.
Ee Wei also took the opportunity to celebrate the role of women in sports, highlighting the importance of leadership and empowerment.
“Here’s to celebrating women power – continuing to inspire, uplift, and lead with purpose,” she said.
The recognition places Ee Wei among an elite group of Malaysian women who have made a significant impact in their respective sporting fields, serving as role models for the next generation of athletes.
