KUCHING: The 2025 edition of the Sri Aman Football League, known as the Datuk Francis Harden Hollis Cup, is set to commence this Saturday (August 2), bringing together eight formidable club teams in pursuit of local football glory.

According to Alfred Kendim, honorary secretary of the Sri Aman Football Association (FASA), the competing teams include Fuhai FT, SAPD, Merpati FC, L.A. United, Kaban Empire FC, Datus United FC, Aqibxkampungboy FC, and BBE X Insuaramu FC.

“The tournament will adopt a group league format in the preliminary stage, followed by knockout rounds for the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final,” Alfred told Arena Suara Sarawak.

The teams will be drawn into Groups A and B during a ballot session scheduled on Thursday (July 31).

Alfred emphasised that the tournament, organised by FASA, also serves a larger purpose: to identify top talent to represent Sri Aman in the upcoming 2025 Sarawak Premier League.

The champion team will receive RM6,000 in prize money, along with a trophy and medals.

The runner-up will take home RM3,000, a trophy, and medals, while the third-placed team will earn RM2,000 and similar honours.

The fourth-placed side will receive medals.

Additional accolades will be awarded for Best Team, Best Player in the Final, and Top Scorer of the tournament.
