SIBU: Twin sisters Lau Ee Suan and Lau Ee Ki have spent the past eight years growing together through volleyball, and the Sarawak International Volleyball Invitation (SIVI) 2026 has given them their first opportunity to compete in Sibu.

The 18-year-old students from Pin Hwa High School in Klang, Selangor, said they were excited to be part of the tournament while experiencing Sarawak for the first time.

“It is our first time coming to Sibu, and we feel very happy to be here. The tournament has been a good experience for us as we get to play against different teams,” said Lau Ee Suan.

Having started playing volleyball at the age of 10, the twins have trained and competed together throughout their journey, building their skills and understanding of the game side by side.

Besides the competition, the sisters told Sarawak Tribune that they have also enjoyed trying local favourites during their stay, including kampua mee and kolok mee.

“We have tried kampua mee and kolok mee here. We like the food, and it has been a nice experience for us,” said Lau Ee Ki.

The twins said they hope to return to Sarawak again in the future as they continue their volleyball journey, with their next challenge being the upcoming Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in Selangor next month.
