KUCHING: A total of 190 recipients registered in the eKasih system received cash assistance through the Sejahtera MADANI Back-to-School (Primary) Programme and the Ziarah Kasih Ramadan initiative.
Sarawak Federal Secretary Datuk Ahmad Nadzri Mohd Hassan said the programme involved 65 primary school pupils who are Household Members (AIR) and 125 Heads of Household (KIR), all of whom are registered in the eKasih system.
He added that the assistance provided was targeted and aimed at those who genuinely need support.
“This programme reflects the government’s continued commitment to ensuring the welfare of the people is always prioritised, particularly those in the eKasih category who require ongoing attention and assistance,” he said when speaking at the Sejahtera MADANI Back-to-School (Primary) Programme and Ziarah Kasih Ramadan event here today (March 11).
According to Ahmad Nadzri, each primary school pupil received RM200 in cash assistance to support efforts to improve access to education and encourage them to attend school with greater motivation.
He added that primary education is an important foundation in shaping pupils’ character, discipline and academic excellence.
Meanwhile, under the Sejahtera MADANI Welfare: Ziarah Kasih Ramadan Programme, each head of household received RM500 in cash assistance to help ease the burden of rising living costs.
He stated the approach was in line with the principles of Malaysia MADANI, which emphasise compassion, wellbeing and confidence in ensuring that the welfare of the people continues to be safeguarded.
