BINTANGOR: An elderly man survived an accident after losing control of his vehicle along Jalan Sungai Petai.

The accident was reported at 11.45 am on Sunday by members of the public, prompting the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) to dispatch firefighters from the Bintangor fire station.
Bomba said the rescue team arrived at the scene at 12.03 pm, approximately 14 kilometres from the station.
“At the scene, a compact vehicle had crashed onto the roadside along Jalan Sungai Petai. The elderly male driver had already exited the vehicle.
“No rescue operation was carried out as members of the public had safely removed the victim from the vehicle before the rescue team arrived,” it said in a statement today.
It added that the victim was conscious and sustained only minor injuries.
After being assessed and given initial treatment, the victim was handed over to the Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance to be transported to Sarikei Hospital.
