KUCHING: A senior citizen sustained leg injuries and body injuries after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree at the Taman Hui Sing roundabout here this afternoon.
He was later taken to the hospital using the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle for further treatment.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said they received a distress call regarding the incident at 12:05 pm.
“A team from the Batu Lintang station, when arriving at the scene found that the elderly man had already been extricated from the vehicle by members of the public before the rescue team arrived,” it said in a statement.
No rescue operation was carried out, and the Bomba personnel subsequently ensured the area was safe before returning to their station.
