KUCHING: An elderly man died on the spot after he was knocked down by a car while crossing the road at Km48, Kuching-Serian Road at about 2.10pm on Tuesday.
Then Sin Choy, 67, from Km48, Kuching-Serian Road was on his way home.
He suffered severe head injuries and broken limbs. Paramedics who rushed to the scene confirmed Then’s death.
His remains were brought to the Serian hospital morgue for an autopsy.
The driver, a 36-year-old man, from Jalan Pisang Barat here, was not injured.
State Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed the case.
He said it was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1987.
