KUCHING: An elderly man escaped unhurt after his car crashed onto the middle road divider along Jalan Stutong last night (Dec 28).
The accident happened at around 7.35 pm when the victim in his 70s, was driving towards BDC before his Proton Saga swerved out of control.
Fortunately, the driver was not trapped in the vehicle and did not sustain any injuries.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Tabuan Jaya station were dispatched to the scene, about 7km away, following an emergency call.
Upon arrival, the team assisted in safely removing the driver from the car before handing him over to the police for further action.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation ended at 8.26 pm.
