Elderly man sustains injuries in sedan self-accident

KUCHING: An elderly man sustained injuries but survived an accident after losing control of his sedan while heading towards Telaga Air.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was alerted to the traffic accident at 4.58 pm involving the sedan.

Teams from Petra Jaya fire station were dispatched to the location which is located 20 kilometres away.

“Upon arrival, the team was informed that there was an elderly victim involved who was already taken out of his sedan by the public.

“Emergency Medical Rescue Service Unit (EMRS) provided treatment, putting on cervical collar and sling collar on to the victim,” it said.

The 70-year-old man was then transported to the hospital by the EMRS team for further treatment, and the operations ended at 5.26 pm.
