MIRI: An elderly woman sustained a broken leg and head injuries after she was hit by a car while crossing the road at Jalan Krokop Utama here yesterday.
It was understood that the victim, in her 70s, was crossing the road before she was knocked down by a car that was heading to the city centre from Krokop around 8.30am.
The victim was sent to Miri Hospital for treatment.
A team of traffic policemen were at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
