KUCHING: Police here have arrested 11 individuals in connection with a string of property and violent crimes committed across the district.

Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching) said the suspects — 10 men and a woman, all locals aged between 18 and 52 — were picked up during various operations carried out between June 30 and July 6.
“Their arrests led to the successful solving of seven criminal cases, including house and shop break-ins in Gita, Sentral, and Tabuan Jaya.

“Arrests were also made in relation to vehicle and motorcycle thefts in Satok and Tabuan Jaya, as well as a rape case in the Jalan Green area,” it said in a statement.
Police also detained a suspect involved in a weapon-related assault at a village in Petra Jaya.
“An individual listed as a ‘wanted person’ for a domestic violence case in Jalan Menggris was also nabbed,” it said.
Meanwhile, police urged the public to continue cooperating by channelling any information related to criminal activities to their nearest police station or by contacting the IPD Kuching Control Centre at 082-244444.
