Eleven positive for drugs during raids on fun outlets

KUCHING: Eleven patrons tested positive for drugs during recent raids on entertainment centres by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (NCID) here.

Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the raids were conducted since Sept  23.

“A total of 46 males and one female were inspected, and 11 males aged between 21 and 54 have been detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 as their urine screening test results were found positive for drugs.

“The suspects are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a fine of not more than RM5,000 or imprisonment not exceeding two years upon conviction,” said Ahsmon.
