KUCHING: Sarawak Government has pledged a grant of RM10,000 to Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneur Chamber (DUBS) Dewanita as part of efforts to empowering women entrepreneurs in the state.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, made the announcement while officiating at the opening of the DUBS) Dewanita Pavilion Market 2026.
Held under the theme ‘Inspired by Women, Created for All’, the inaugural event showcased 56 booths – 36 operated by DUBS Dewanita members and 20 by non-members – demonstrating the government’s commitment to inclusive economic development that leaves no one behind.

In her speech, Fatimah emphasised that the RM10,000 pledge comes with two conditions: programmes must be grassroots-focused and involve collaboration with government agencies.
“By working with the ministry, Dewanita can potentially double or triple their programme participation when extending beyond Kuching.
“With the same objectives and mission as the ministry, we aspire to produce as many women entrepreneurs as possible in the state of Sarawak,” she said.
Fatimah outlined a comprehensive three-tier capital assistance programme designed to support women entrepreneurs at different stages of their business journey, starting from entry level support valued at RM500, development capital (RM2,000) and business expansion (RM5,000 to RM20,000).
As 2026 unfolds, the convergence of financial support, infrastructure development, digital innovation and collaborative governance positions Sarawak’s women entrepreneurs for unprecedented growth.
The Dewanita DUBS Market Pavilion 2026 marks not just an opening event, but the launch of a comprehensive ecosystem designed to transform women’s entrepreneurship across the state.
