KUCHING: Rumah Alex longhouse in Skandis, Ulu Lemanak, Engkilili was hit by a landslide yesterday thereby destroying a section of their longhouse’s wall.
According to a statement by the Civil Defence Force (APM), the landslide was caused by a heavy downpour in the area.
APM Sri Aman senior officer Lt Kamal Bujang said that APM received a distressed call at 12 pm and rushed to the scene to monitor and supervise the area and then concluded that the area was safe.
“Eight residents from Rumah Alex longhouse were affected by the landslide.
“The residents are advised to be on alert and inform the authorities if the incidents happened again,” he said in a statement.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
