KUCHING: The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has issued a reminder to all ratepayers within its area to ensure timely payment of the first half-year 2023 assessment rates.

The council stressed that the deadline for payment is on May 31 (Wednesday) and failure to comply with this deadline will result in a surcharge of 1 per cent per month or part thereof.

“Ratepayers who have not received or misplaced their assessment rate bills are kindly requested to visit the Padawan Municipal Council’s counter located on the Ground Floor of its premises.

“They can obtain duplicate bills from the counter or request for the bills to be emailed to them by contacting the Council at Tel: 082-615566,” it said in its Facebook post.

To facilitate convenient payment, the council also provides multiple options for ratepayers.

The MPP assessment rate bills can be settled at the Kuching Water Board or online through the official website: https://paybills.sarawak.gov.my.

Payments can also be made in person at H&L Supermarkets in Kuching and at the Service Sarawak Centre (UTC) or online through Sarawak Pay (SPay Global).

Ratepayers are reminded of the Counter Opening Hours at the MPP Office, which operates from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

The counters remain open during lunch hours to ensure convenience for ratepayers seeking assistance or making payments in person.
