BINTULU: The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) issued compounds to three entertainment centres for violating operating conditions during an enforcement operation conducted last Thursday (April 17).

The operation, which involved 17 personnel from the Environmental Health Office and BDA’s enforcement team, targeted entertainment centres located in the Parkcity and Sri Dagang areas.

Inspections revealed that two premises were operating beyond the permitted hours, while another was found to be operating without a valid licence. All three were compounded under the provisions of the Entertainment Ordinance 2001.

BDA and the Environmental Health Office carry out an operation at entertainment centres.

In a statement, BDA reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that entertainment establishments in the district operate responsibly and in full compliance with licensing regulations.

The authority also said that enforcement operations will continue from time to time as a preventive measure.

BDA further urged all entertainment operators to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations in place, in order to preserve the harmony and prosperity of Bintulu as a developed township.
