MIRI: Rural entrepreneurship can become a key strategy for improving incomes and creating more employment opportunities for rural folks.
Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau cited the art of making traditional loom beads amongst the Orang Ulu women which he said could become an integral economic activity for the community.
Dennis said this at the closing ceremony of ‘Loom Manik’ workshop held at a leading hotel here on Saturday.
The one-day workshop was organised by PBB Telang Usan women wing. It was participated by some 20 women from Telang Usan constituency.
Also present was a political secretary to chief minister Charles Balan Selling.

On another note, Dennis reminded his constituents not to be easily influenced by the rhetoric of the opposition.
“They want everything to look appealing to the people of Sarawak, hence making various kinds of promises, but at the end of the day, they could not fulfill their promises,” he said.
At the event, Dennis presented insurance cards for PBB Telang Usan committee members for their healthcare insurance scheme.
