KUCHING: Entries for the Kenyalang Journalism Awards (KJA) 2025, to be held in Kuching at year’s end, are now open and will close on August 31 via https://mpi.my/award/kja-2025.

The competition is open exclusively to active members of the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA), Sibu Journalists Association (SJA), Institute of Rejang Journalists (IRJ), and Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA), with active membership referring to renewals for the 2025 fiscal year.

In a statement issued by KDJA today, only works published by Sarawakian media registered with Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia, such as newspapers, broadcast TV and broadcast radio in electronic media between September 31, 2024 to August 31, 2025, are eligible to be submitted as entries.

A participant may submit a maximum of four entries in total for the entire Awards, including individual and team entries.

Only works published in newspapers and/or aired by TV stations based in Malaysia and related to the state can be submitted as entries.

For online portals, only entries with portals registered with Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia will be accepted.

The contest will feature 10 categories: Feature and News Feature, News Reporting, Sports Reporting, Broadcast Journalism, Sustainability Journalism, Business & Economic Journalism, Community Well-being Journalism, Photo Journalism, Photo Essay, and Digital Economy Journalism.
