KUCHING: CTOS SME Biz Day 2025 is making its first-ever stop here, aiming to equip local small businesses with practical tools to scale, digitalise, and compete more effectively.

Set to take place on August 19 at the Imperial Hotel Kuching, the event will focus on business financing, digital adoption, and regulatory navigation—key areas often cited as challenges for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Entrepreneurs will also gain insights into government grants and participate in business development workshops.

CTOS Digital Bhd highlighted Sarawak’s growing importance in the national economy, noting that the state is home to around 74,000 SMEs, with nearly 40 per cent already embarking on digital transformation.

CTOS chief operating officer Lee Shin Mei said the company’s decision to bring the event to Kuching reflects its commitment to engaging SMEs on the ground, especially as Sarawak targets 80 per cent SME and micro-entrepreneur digitalisation by 2030 under the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint.

She noted that SMEs and related business activities are projected to contribute RM56.4 billion to the state’s GDP by the end of the decade.

“Kuching is a growing hub with strong potential, especially in the SME and export-driven sectors,” she said in a statement.

“CTOS is proud to be part of this journey—not just as a solution provider, but as a long-term partner in digital transformation.

Together, we’re building a connected ecosystem that empowers SMEs with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to grow confidently.”

CTOS SME Biz Day is part of a national roadshow series that addresses common roadblocks faced by SMEs.

The initiative has previously made stops in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor.
