MIRI: Work to stop the erosion of a steep road leading to Canada Hill is scheduled to start two weeks from now.

This was disclosed by Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Lee Kim Shin, yesterday morning after visiting the area.

Prior to the visit, Lee heard the concerns of people from Kampung Haji Waheed who feared that the situation was getting worse.

“Money for the construction has been approved and the work will be carried out by the Public Works Department,” he said.

According to Lee, the erosion happened since December 7 following heavy rain. Canada Hill is where the Grand Old Lady and Petroleum Museum are located, making it a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.
