KUALA NERUS: Communication breakdowns and individual mistakes were the main reasons behind Terengganu FC’s (TFC) 1-4 loss to Kuching City FC in the first FA Cup quarterfinal at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium here last night.

Head coach Badrul Afzan Razali said the heavy defeat leaves TFC with a tough task in the return leg in Sarawak on Oct 28.

Despite the setback, he remains hopeful the players can recover and fight for a semifinal spot.

He admitted that eagerness to score led to simple errors, costing two early goals, while poor finishing continued to haunt the team.

Kuching City coach Aidil Sharin Sahak, meanwhile, praised his players’ discipline and tactical execution, which earned them a comfortable advantage.

However, he cautioned against complacency, vowing to maintain focus and deliver another strong performance for home fans in the second leg. – BERNAMA
