LUNDU: The unity among our ethnic groups is a key element contributing to the state’s political stability, said Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang.

He said there was a direct link between Sarawak’s political stability and its economic prosperity.

“Economic development, which is expected to continue to increase year by year, will enable the benefits to be enjoyed by the people of Sarawak, especially through comprehensive socioeconomic development.

“This will further serve as a basis for the current government’s administration to be continued by future generations of leaders,” he said during the Jiwa Madani programme and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (MAPO) campaign in Kampung Sebandi Hulu recently.

During the event, Billy announced a total allocation of RM28,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) for 11 Women’s Bureaus, with each receiving RM2,000.

Additionally, the Women’s Bureau of Kampung Serayan Hilir and the Women’s Bureau of Kampung Keranji were allocated RM3,000 each.
