MUKAH: A fun outing turned tragic when a teenage boy was found dead during a bathing activity at Kuala Oya Beach yesterday (May 27).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Mukah station were dispatched to the scene, about 23km away, following an emergency call at 6.18 pm.
Upon arrival, the team was informed that the victim had already been found by villagers at 6.42 pm.
The boy, identified as 13-year-old Ammar Amzar Musa, was discovered within a 500-metre radius from where he was last seen.
His body was later handed over to the police and taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.
