SEREMBAN: The Ministry of Education (MOE) is committed to strengthening school development as part of the country’s long-term planning to ensure that every student has access to quality education regardless of location or background.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said school development is not only focused on providing buildings and physical facilities, but also ensuring that access to education can continue to be enjoyed by children in line with changes and community development.

She said the approach is one of the main foundations of the Malaysia Education Plan 2026-2035, which emphasises equitable educational opportunities in a quality, safe learning environment that is capable of developing students’ full potential.

“The MADANI government will continue to strengthen the development of all types of schools in the country’s education system, including government-aided schools (SBK).

“Our responsibility is to ensure that every change opens up more opportunities and access for children to receive quality education,” she said in her speech at the ground-breaking ceremony of Sekolah Kebangsaan Jenis (T) Labu Division 4 here today.

Also present were State Education director Khalidah Omar and Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad group managing director Kelvin Lee.

Meanwhile, regarding the programme, the Negri Sembilan Government together with Matrix Concepts Holdings Berhad and the School Governing Board (LPS) will build a new school at a cost of RM9 million to replace SJK (T) Labu Division 4 which will be relocated to the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) site which is expected to be completed in 2028.

Fadhlina said the school being built on a 2.4 hectare (six acre) site located about one kilometre from the original location, is closer to the new development area to improve education access to the local population.

“The new school has a four-storey building equipped with 12 classrooms, 15 special rooms, two pre-school classes, a multipurpose hall, a canteen, a guardhouse and a school field.

“The new facility is expected to provide a more complete and conducive learning environment for students and school staff, in addition to supporting the development of students’ knowledge, skills and character,” she said.

She said the project also reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that educational development moves in line with the growth of new areas and prepares future generations to face the challenges of an increasingly dynamic world.

SJK (T) Ladang Labu Division 4, which was established in 1947, has been a place where children in the community receive education for almost eight decades. – BERNAMA
