KUCHING: Petra Jaya Member of Parliament and former Works Minister, Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof hopes that the new Works Minister, Baru Bian will ensure that the Pan Borneo Project for Sabah and Sarawak continues.

He said that the project had been planned and approved by the previous government.
Baru Bian, Selangau Member of Parliament, is the only Sarawak minister in the federal Cabinet.

“Congratulations to Baru Bian on being appointed as the  new Works Minister.

“I also would like to thank the Pakatan Harapan government for choosing a representative from Sarawak to replace me,” said Fadilah.

He pointed out besides connecting the main cities in Sarawak and Sabah, the Pan Borneo Project  would provide job opportunities to the local people, connect  the industrial centres such as ports, factories, commercial centres, enhance the economy as well as save the travelling time and transportation costs between the main cities.

“I also hope that the other  projects such as the Batang Lupar Bridge, Batang Igan Bridge, viaduct at the junction of Jalan Medan-Jalan Tun Hussein Onn, Batang Rambungan Bridge and Jalan Dato Mohd Musa project will be continued.

“I would like to thank the  Works Ministry and agencies, particularly, the  Public Works Department, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) for their cooperation during my term as Works Minister.

“Thank you also to Rakan KKR and the KKR Social Media team for their support and cooperation.

“I hope the same cooperation will be given to  Baru Bian,” added Fadillah.
