KUCHING: Fakhrul Nujaid Khalidi and Kalsum Ayup won the Qari and Qariah category respectively in the Dalat Al-Quran recital competition held at Masjid Darul Islah, Kg Bakong Oya on Monday.
Second place in the Qari (men) and Qariah (women) went to Abang Ahmad Abang Mantali and Masyiethah Yusri respectively.
Third-place winners were Shahrizal Musa and Iput Basri @ Basrah respectively.
The prizes were presented by Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah.
At the same time, Fatimah also presented a RM10,000 minor rural project grant to the organising committee and RM5,000 to the Oya-level Maulidur Rasul celebration organising committee.
