KUCHING: The Road Transport Department’s (RTD) motorcycle enforcement unit went full throttle and issued 57 non-compliance notices over reckless parking near Kuching International Airport (KIA) and Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
Acting on public complaints over traffic bottlenecks and blatant disregard for traffic rules, the operation targeted drivers who parked illegally on yellow lines and in no-parking zones yesterday (Jul 8).
Illegally-parked vehicles have created chaos for ambulances, airport-goers, and everyday commuters.
Swift response by RTD’s Team Falcon not only cleared congested hotspots but also exposed the stubborn behaviour of drivers who continue to flout basic traffic laws despite repeated warnings.
The department urged the public to use proper parking areas, especially at high-traffic zones like hospitals and airports, to keep traffic flowing and ensure emergency access is never blocked.
The department warned that enforcement efforts will continue and those who break the rules, will face the full force of the law.
