KUCHING: Traffic along Jalan Satok was abruptly brought to a halt early today (Jan. 1) after a large tree fell onto a Perodua Bezza, blocking the main road at Taman TM.
It was reported that the incident happened at around 1:05 am, and no casualties were reported, despite the vehicle being crushed beneath the fallen tree.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Batu Lintang station were quickly dispatched to secure the area and clear the obstruction.
Upon arrival, the team used chainsaws to cut through the massive tree, clearing the obstruction that had brought traffic to a standstill.
The road was reopened to motorists after the tree was completely removed and the area declared safe.
