KUCHING: The Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) organised Malaysia’s Regional B2B Business Matching, known as MejaTalk, with the goal of fostering meaningful connections by facilitating direct interactions between entrepreneurs and buyers.
Director of Market Promotion Division, Ridzuan Sirun, said the event allows entrepreneurs the chance to engage directly with those individuals and acquire their products for their respective outlets.
“Today, the attendees include individuals engaged in marketing across various sectors, including supermarkets, retail, wholesale, distribution, as well as the hospitality and catering industries.
“Entrepreneurs have the chance to directly connect with these individuals to source products for their respective outlets. This programme creates a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs to interact directly with potential buyers.
“While organising one-on-one meetings with buyers could be quite challenging due to time constraints or the need to align with market or outlet schedules, this event brings them all together. Buyers can meet producers directly, simplifying the process,” Ridzuan said at the event held at Waterfront Hotel here on Thursday (Oct 26).
He mentioned that entrepreneurs attending have been actively participating since the initial programme while holding a positive view of the programme, considering it highly beneficial as it grants them the chance to introduce and promote their products effectively in the market.
“So, we hope that through this meeting, many products that they were previously searching for ways to market can now be placed in the relevant outlets. And I believe they offer competitive prices.”
He added that all entrepreneurs aspire to make a strong comeback from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“As a government agency, our intent is to provide substantial support to help these entrepreneurs recover from the pandemic.
“I am also convinced that a considerable number of them are poised to expand, not only within the domestic market but also on the international stage.
“Moreover, I firmly believe that sustained government assistance will significantly bolster the capacities of our entrepreneurs to venture into both local and global markets.”
