MIRI: Penggerak Komuniti Negara (PKN) Miri on Wednesday handed over a contribution amounting to RM2,800 to families of two MV Dayang Topaz crew members who died when the vessel hit an offshore oil platform about 7.7 nautical miles off Miri on Tuesday morning.

The simple presentation ceremony was graced today by PKN Miri secretary, Irlene Bungan Yahya on behalf of its chairlady, Korina Mang; she handed over the contribution to Ang Chung Khiong, manpower superintendent, who represented the company that owned the vessel.

Among those who chipped in to help were Sarawak PKN members, local Iban artiste Emma Anthony, members of the public from Miri, Bintulu, Kuching as well as Bubu Ridan Enterprise, Miri and Sailor’s Cafe, Sibu and Slymax HCS Sdn Bhd, Miri.
